At the end of the Summer Term the leader of our Ribble Colony expressed
that she would like to stand down due to work and family commitments and her
own son having moved on to Cubs. I would
like to thank Jo for her hard work and enthusiasm during her time as leader.
I am pleased to say that Steve Bennett has agreed to take over. Steve was previously an assistant leader with
the colony so knows the young people and the routines. I have met with him over the summer break and
he is definitely keen to get started.
I’m sure you’re in safe hands. Please
do everything you can to support Steve in offering a fun, challenging and
adventurous programme for your children.

Welcome back
I hope everyone has had a good Summer.
The leaders did, despite ending their holiday early to start planning fun
and exciting activities for this term.
Animal Friend
This term the Beavers will be working on their animal friend badge. As part of this they have to help take care
of an animal for one month and tell others in their colony about it. To help us, we’ll be visiting the Pets @
Home store on Preston docks on Thursday 3rd October. Please arrange to drop your child off there
at 6PM and collect them again at 7PM. They should wear full uniform.
Over the following four
weeks Beavers from one lodge per week will be invited to bring their pet to
Beavers and tell us a little about them.
This will work best done at the start or end of the night with a parent
there to supervise. If you do not have a
pet, please talk to a leader about how your child can achieve this badge.
It looks like being a great
term
Steve
