Role: Group Treasurer
Aim
- To ensure efficient and effective administration of group financial affairs
What would I have to do?
- Maintain group accounts
- Support sections' accounts
- Receive and pay in members' subscriptions and other monies
- Signatory to Group Bank Accounts
- Issue funds to group sections
- Reimburse receipted expenses
- Pay group bills (Insurance, Rent, HQ Membership, etc)
- Compile and submit Gift Aid claim
- Support Applications for Grants
- Attend group executive meetings
What support will I get?
- Support from Group Scout Leader and Section leaders
- Support and guidance from outgoing group treasurer
- Online accounts spreadsheets
- Online subs recording and gift aid spreadsheets
- Agreed systems and processes to simplify work
- Training from Scout district and HQ factsheets
- Charity Trustee training
- Any minor expenses incurred will be paid
What skills/time/equipment do I need?
- Internet access
- Good cash management skills
- Medium time commitment
- Attendance at 5 x 1h30 meetings on alternate months (Weds evening)
- Attendance at Group Annual General Meeting
- Record and bank members subs at the start of each school term
- Issue monies to sections and individuals as required
- Submission of Gift Aid claim once per year
- This role will require a CRB check
How long is the job for?
- This is an elected role for a 12 month term
- you may choose to stand for election again at that time
