Volunteer: Website editor

We now have a vacancy for a volunteer to help support our group.  There are more details of the role below.  If you think you can help with this, let us know.

Role: Website editor


  • To ensure efficient and effective management of group membership enquiries

What would I have to do?

  • Receive information from a range of sources
  • Maintain Google calendar with event dates
  • Add news item posts to our Blogger site
  • Select images to enhance stories

What support will I get?

  • Emailed information to add to site
  • Writing style guide
  • Training/Instructions in how to use the simple tools
  • Regular discussion with Group Scout Leader to address any problems you have
  • Any minor expenses incurred will be paid 

What skills/time/equipment do I need?

  • Internet access
  • Basic word-processing skills (you don't need to be a web developer)
  • Good organisation to ensure site is kept up to date
  • Low time commitment, estimated 2 hours per month 
  • This role will require a CRB check

How long is the job for?

  • Initially we will review together how things are going after 6 months;
  • then we will review things annually
