Guild Processions

Posted by Andrew Hobson Saturday, 7 April 2012

Preston Guild year is now well underway and you may have seen the Preston Passion on TV over the Easter weekend. The main Guild week is in September and we are now looking for people to get involved and be part of the Scout Group's Guild events.

For many people their strongest memories of Preston Guild are of taking part or watching the spectacular processions.

There are 3 processions relevant to the Group:

  • Saturday 3rd September 2pm - Churches ProcessionSt Anthony's parish are well on with the planning for this event
  • Friday 7th September 11am - Community ProcessionPreston District scouts will have a float in this procession and are looking for 80 young people to take part.  Note that this is a school day and consent will be required for pupils to be absent on this day.
  • Saturday 8th September 8pm - Torchlight Procession7th Fulwood are entering a walking float in the Grand Finale of Guild Week and everyone is invited to join us.
If your son or daughter is interested in being in these processions let us know - Count me in

We need your help!

I'd like to get a group of adult's together to help organise the torchlight procession.  A variety of jobs are available including: sharing ideas, administration, making things, publicity and stewarding on the evening.  Don't worry if you don't have much time available, we appreciate anything you can offer.

Let us know what you could do - I'd like to help
